About EXOSOMES
Exosomes contain biomolecules including proteins, growth factors, lipids and nucleic acids such as messenger-RNA, (mRNA) and micro-RNA (miRNA). They act as messengers between cells and promote all aspects of skin health.
Exosomes are delivered into the skin through a microchannels created in treatment with either Dermapen 4 or Babyface LaseMD Ultra. Exosomes are applied topically immediately after treatment when microchannels created by treatment are receptive, enabling deep penetration of the exosomes.
For both Dermapen and Babyface LaseMD local anaesthetic cream is applied prior to treatment to ensure a pain free experience. When skin is numb the treatment is carried out and sterile active exosomes are applied directly into the skin.
For any treatment which temporarily compromises the skin patients are advised to avoid sun exposure, active skin care and acids and keep skin clean and hydrated.
Typically skin will appear red after treatment, occasionally patients experience some swelling and the skin can shed and peel.
Skin may appear firmer and lifted after treatment and texture will be improved within days of treatment. The process of remodelling collagen and elastin to add structure to skin, and fill out lines, or scars, takes around three months, when full results should be visible.
